Keeping on track of after the first lesson

Recently I shared what I do during a first lesson. -playing and naming all of the keys on the piano. And, introducing major and minor scales and chords. If you missed it, you can check out the videos here:

Where do you go next? Obviously, there is more to playing the piano than knowing the names of the keys, and being able to play scales and chords. These are early lessons, laying foundations and setting students up for later success. So play around with these ideas for a few weeks.

In addition to introducing students to notes on a staff, small melodies and basic rhythm, I'm trying 5-10 minutes during the second lesson with the worksheet posted below. The free download link is underneath. It works well with the 5 note scale cards.

It goes with the 5 note scale and chord cards, but is useable without the cards.

Happy Playing!
