Blues Round 2

Sarah Lyngra

Have you been working on the Blues? This is video 2 of the "I'm at the piano, now what?" Blues Edition. You continue to practice moving your left hand through the blues pattern, this time playing half notes.

The two most important things to do:

  1. Count aloud and tap- you want to have a rock solid beat (your future self will thank you)

  2. Smooth transitions between the 3 different chords of the pattern.

You can make a whole practice session out of this, by playing the blues in one key for 2-3 minutes, then transposing to different keys, or it works well as a warm up.
